Your Child Deserves the best

Discover the benefits of a shared nanny
for your whole family

Stimulate your baby with socialization

Socialization is integral to your child's development and well-being. Through the nanny share experience, you create the opportunity to establish early bonds, friendships, and a sense of belonging at a critical time in your child's life. This fosters the progression of essential skills- your child's social, cognitive, communicative and emotional growth.

Reduced Exposure to Illnesses

Any parent with a child in daycare can attest to the increased risk of illnesses that comes with that environment. Since your child is not around as many children, your child will not get sick. A healthier family is a happier family!

Huge Savings

Since you are splitting the cost with another family, you can save up to $25,000 per year in childcare costs. You can also afford to pay a nanny more than you would on your own.

This is a great incentive for a nanny to participate in a nanny share arrangement. A higher paid nanny is typically happier and as a result will stay with your family longer. All of our nannies undergo rigorous background checks.

How it works

1. Apply online

Fill out our online form to help us better understand your family's specific needs. This information will help us match you with the right family and nanny

2. Pay the application fee

Finding the right nanny and family for you takes a lot of work, therefore we have a $165 application fee to begin our tailored search and thorough background check process

3. Phone interview

An introductory phone interview will allow us to review all your details and learn everything about you and your child's needs

We do the work to find the perfect match

We make sure to find two families that have matching schedules and needs. With our expertise we help solve:
  • Who will host?
Typically one family “hosts” the share—meaning that the care occurs at that family's home. The other family in the share drops off and picks up their child daily.
  • How well do our schedules match?
The two families will have very similar needs for care. The closer the family schedules and homes are to each other, the happier everyone will be.
  • Are the child-rearing philosophies compatible?
We will align your parenting style appropriately with that of another family and select a nanny based on that criteria- they will practice what you preach.

The families get to know each other

Once we have identified two families that could be a great match, we will conduct an in-home interview where the care will be provided.

We write up and talk through the details

If both families confirm they want to do a nanny share together, we'll help draw up a contract that should avoid a later “but I thought...”.

This contract will define what should be done when it comes to holidays, budget, expenses, necessary equipments...

We find the perfect nanny

Once the interview is complete, My Shared Nanny then finds the best candidate to match your families' needs.

Each of our nannies undergoes rigorous background checks and is interviewed by a member of our team. Everyone has at least 5-years experience with infant children age 2 and under. Their experience matters as we know taking care of two babies can be challenging.

The Families interview the nanny

The families can interview the nanny separately or together. They both need to approve the nanny before moving forward. If one of the families is not ok with the nanny, we will quickly find another one from our network.

After the interview, the families will enter into a Family/Nanny Agreement with the Nanny.

What they say

We are happy when you are happy

Sarah

Upper East Side

My husband and I didn’t know anyone nor where to start in terms of family planning for childcare- it was very overwhelming. My Shared Nanny matched us with a close by family who have become dear friends of ours, and our children are inseparable.

Jennifer

Williamsburg

My wife and I were considering a nanny share, but had our reservations because of our complicated schedules. The My Shared Nanny team connected us with a family who was in the same boat and a flexible, experienced nanny.

Rebecca

Lower East Side

Nanny shares take some work, but the payoff is huge. We are saving money and helping our son grow and develop with a companion and a nanny we trust. Every family should consider a share.
